It looks a bit dull today; dull but clear, not gloomy like yesterday. It is also a bit warmer, hiking up in the 20s. I still bundled the boys up in layers before bringing them outside. Kids don’t care about the cold until their hands become numb. I only let them out for a few minutes and I was already feeling the chill in my bones.
PP had early school time this morning so Peanut and I dropped him off then returned home so I can start baking again. They ate the whole loaf of sweet milk bread yesterday and asked me to make some more. See, it’s nice to have kitchen testers like my kids, they are carb hoarders and love everything bread. Whenever we take them to Cheesecake Factory, they only look forward to the free breads that were served as soon as we sit down. Sometimes PP took the liberty to ask for more. If I were to allow them to have bread for all meals, I am sure they would probably be quite happy about it.
Waiting for the dough to rise.
The downside of learning to bake is that I kind of whacked up my low-carb regiment, which I have been consistent since June. But the demand for homemade breads has put me back on eating more simple carbs even though I have tried to sneak in portions of whole wheat and whole grains as much as I can into certain breads.
When I gain more confidence in basic bread making then I will venture into using other types of flour that give better nutritional values than regular white bread or all-purpose flours.
