My little Peanut got quite an insect bite yesterday when O took the boys out to the trail for bike riding. It became swollen, and harden, with redness the size of a large egg. I took him to the doctor this afternoon and was assured that it’s not fatal, I just have to keep watch on the red patch overnight. If it reduces in size and color by tomorrow morning then he is fine, otherwise, he might need to be taken to the ER for further treatment if he develops other reaction like fever, nausea, and lethargy.
In my 5.5 years of being a parent, this is the first time I have experienced this kind of ordeal. When I discovered the red harden patch on his leg this morning, I let out a barrage of expletives, although all in silence because I did not want Peanut to hear my verbal reaction.
Here he was with “Ms. Nurse” at the clinic, asking for stickers.
He has finally fell asleep at 10 p.m. I had to sing so many songs for him to calm down because it’s a triple whammy night — having a cold, cough, and reaction to the insect bite.
