when you’re too hungry to wait

One of my easiest meal prep is BBQ-pulled-chicken made in the slow-cooker. In the morning I tossed the frozen chicken breast into the pot, mixed the Baby Ray BBQ Sauce with some soy sauce, salt, ground black pepper, water, diced onion and celery…and leave it on for 8 hours. Ta-dahh, by the time dinner came, the slow-cooker did the major part and I did not have to labor much into dinner prep.

I was going to give them multigrain bread with the pulled chicken, but when I pulled the fridge to get something else, the kids saw a bag of frozen Chinese steam buns and asked to eat with it.

East meet West. Turned out the combination was pretty good!

…and my boys ate well that day.
