The temperature hit 100F today. The boys and I stayed inside until 8 p.m. and decided to hike up the small ridge at a park with proper shoes. The heat was still vicious at 8 p.m., but the sunset was beautiful. The cool breeze at the top of the ridge helped cool us down that we did not want to hike back.
My two trooper hikers. They were very energetic for this hike.
A celebratory dance at the top.
PP took this photo of me. Finally I have someone to capture my moment.
The view we get to see at the top of the ridge. This is looking north; quite dry.
This is the view from the top looking southeast; a bit of green there on the mountain range.
Photo-bomber. Peanut was running to me and then tripped himself. I had to do an emergency boo-boo fix.
Hiking back down…
The sun was halfway set from the top of the ridge.
A lonesome beauty withstanding the heat.
Another hiker in their own solitude on the trail.
