This is what I was talking about when I had that petty argument with Mr. O about the boys’ haircut. PP didn’t want to be in the photo because he was conscious of his bald head. This guy, however, took it with a stride and gave me all he got.
We traveled down south on Route 1, the coastal highway, and stopped by Gray Whale Cove Beach on our way to Halfmoon Bay on July 4th weekend. This was where the traffic began on that one-lane stretch of highway.
It’s always been cloudy, foggy, and cold whenever we come to the coast. Ain’t no sunshine…
I am becoming more of an outdoor person ever since we moved out here to the west coast. Not that I wasn’t before, but the weather in Northern California, especially in Spring when there is no rain, makes me feel like it is a waste of opportunity if we don’t take the boys out for hiking.
The landscape around here is so lush and green, and nowadays we have cherry, plum, almond blossoms blooming around the city, making the landscape so pleasant to the eyes. We climbed the ridge at around 4 in the afternoon and the sun still had that golden cast of glow that I like. The air was a bit crisp, but one layer of coat was enough to give us that snuggy comfort while walking uphill.
And I brought my camera along. 😀 I feel the need to continue taking our family photos and to mark the boys’ growth through the days and the months that they have with us. Lately I don’t do a lot of updates and photos about them, and I feel that I need to do more.

The streets of San Francisco are embellished with blooming sights of cherry blossoms.
It’s only February.
Another reason to love the west coast.
Usually there were no cherry blossoms until May in Minnesota, when the snow melted and warm air from the west or south floated northward. But here, in San Francisco, cherry blossoms come in February. It Tết were a week later, I could have these beauty to showcase.
Today, Mr. O drove the car and I was in the passenger seat awe-ing over how beautiful the city is when lightened up with pink blossoms. Actually, we went into San Francisco two days in a row, so I had two days of enjoyment for such simple pleasure.
(Please excuse me, I am still in the honeymoon phase with San Francisco Bay area.)
And I was also loving these tall towering trees…not sure what they are, but I do marvel at how majestic they look.
…and then, may I interject the posting of cherry blossoms with these two clowns I call “sons” 😀 They are also lovely, I might add! We took them to the Academy of Science today, per PP’s insistence to see electric eels. We also went there yesterday but no place to park, so we went to Twin Peaks, which I will post photos tomorrow.
